Hello Beautiful!
I was born and raised in Hawaii, as a second generation immigrant. In 2018, I graduated from the University of Hawaii: West Oahu and got my Bachelors Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Health. I have a background in working with high risk youth and the elderly population. I worked as a full time social worker from 2018-June 2020 and also worked as a Makeup Artist at Sephora (which was my job during college). Over the course of time, I lost a lot of passion for beauty while working as a social worker. I quit my job at Sephora in 2019 and took a took a permanent makeup course and have been doing permanent makeup since. I specialize in powder ombre brows and, within my PMU career, I've taken one beginner course and two advanced courses. I am a licensed tattoo artist in the sate of Hawaii and also have my blood born pathogens certificate for safety and sanitation.
In June 2020, I enrolled in esthetics school at Makana Esthetics and Wellness Academy in Honolulu and also quit my full time job, all during a global pandemic. Since we had just come back from the first lock down, I had clients backed up since March and had a steady income while going to school. I went to school full time and worked during the weekends, I made it happen somehow. During my time in school I focused on body waxing and advanced facial treatments. I am now a licensed esthetician & tattoo artist who specializes in cosmetic tattoo in the state of Hawaii.
My overall goal is to make people feel beautiful no matter their insecurities / imperfections. I believe everyone is beautiful in their own way and I make it my duty to remind all my clients that they are. My passion is teaching and helping other's perfect their craft to their own style. I love collaborating with other creatives because I believe there’s room for everyone in this industry. I hope to have you in my chair for makeup, waxing or brows one day.
♥ Always,
JANI
